How to Choose the Right Size: A Fit Guide for T-Shirts, Hoodies and Sweatshirts
The most common reason clothes bought online go back is fit. The good news is that a couple of minutes with a tape measure and a t-shirt you already love will almost always get you the right size first time.
Here is how to choose the right size for our t-shirts, hoodies and sweatshirts.
Measure a garment you already own
Lay your favourite t-shirt or hoodie flat and measure straight across the chest, from armpit to armpit. Then measure the length from the highest point of the shoulder down to the hem. Compare those numbers with the size chart on the product page, which uses the same flat measurements.
Know the cut
Our range includes different fits. Classic and relaxed t-shirts are roomy and straight; fitted tees sit closer to the body; crop hoodies and crop sweatshirts are deliberately shorter. Raglan hoodies and sweatshirts have sleeves that run up to the collar, which gives more room across the shoulders.
Sizing up or down
If you like an oversized look, go up one size. If you plan to layer a hoodie under a coat, your usual size is normally best. For fitted styles, stick to your measurements, especially across the chest.
Washing and shrinkage
Cotton can shrink slightly if washed hot or tumble dried. Washing at 30°C and air-drying keeps your clothes true to size; our guide on how to wash printed t-shirts and hoodies has more tips.
